The meditation music album Nordic ró has been created over the past three years. The idea was to use different goat horns both melodically and as a sound foundation, shaping new musical and quiet landscapes (is it possible to create silent landscapes in music?) within timeframes of 3, 6, and 10 minutes. Many people respond strongly to the sound of the goat horn, calling it a primal sound, the sound of nature: earthly and unearthly. My playing on the bukkehorn is my own. Each horn challenges me to search for something I cannot – or will not – put into words, other than to say it is music, sound waves. Meditation is a highly personal practice, and I hope the music can open new spaces within each listener, serving almost as a bridge to something else. Something that is not meant to be put into words.
